Episode 2: Tatakau Chikara | The Power to Fight

Synopsis:
Syaoran, Kurogane, and Fai meet when they all come to see Yuuko, the Dimensional Witch. Yuuko tells the three of them that there is a suitable price to pay in order to gain the ability to travel to foreign worlds. Kurogane's is his katana, Ginryuu, Fai's is the tattoo on his back, and Syaoran's is his relationship with Sakura. All three of these things are that which is most important to the three travelers. After begrudgingly handing these over to Yuuko, they are ready to begin their journey. Mokona brings them to their first new world, where they meet and befriend a young man who tells them, with a Kansai accent, about the skirmishes that fill this world. Anime vs Manga differences:
- When Yuuko tells Syaoran what his payment will be, one of his flashbacks is a scene where Touya was crowned king, and Sakura was greeting him and his father in the crowd. [This scene is original to the anime.]

- Syaoran meets the kudan of flame in the vortex between dimensions. In the manga, he meets his kudan in his dreams.

- The travelers arrive in the streets of Hanshin, where they see the remnants of the chaos caused by the kudan gangs. In the manga, they arrive in one of the rooms of Sorata and Arashi's guest house.

- The first person they meet in Hanshin is Masayoshi. He tells them to run away and hide as there was a street battle erupting. He then tells them where they are as well as explain what the kudan are about. In the manga, Sorata does the explanation (with handy visual aids!)

- Syaoran's kudan first appears with him in battle as he's protecting Sakura's feather. In the manga, it first appears when he's protecting Masayoshi and his kudan.

- Syaoran finds the first feather stuck to his cloak, but because of a stray attack by one of the kudan gangs, he needed to chase after it straight in the crossfire between the two warring gangs. In the manga, he also found the feather in his clothes, but was able to give it back to Sakura right away.

- The kudan of the street gangs are shown as energy projectiles that they shoot from their fists. In the manga, the kudan of the street gang members appear in physical manifestation of animals.
